Finance Bill changes to BIK based on CO2

I really thought the down turn in the economy and the fact that the motor trade in this country is on its knees would have lead the gov to lay off on the CO2 issue for a while but it looks like the greens are still forming policy and determined to destroy the industry altogether

Below is the draconian BIK system announced in the Finance bill which is now banded and means nobody will want a company car outside band C and that along with the VRT and road tax changes to CO2 .Looks Anybody currently in a company car outside band C will be hit with a significant increase unless they change cars like what happened in the Uk when they changed their BIK calculations to CO2.

BIK on Company Cars – Existing vehicles

    Business Mileage % of OMSP

    0-24,000 30%

    24,000-32,000 24%

    32,000-40,000 18%

    40,000-48,000 12%

    48,000 + 6%

    BIK from 2009

Business Mileage % of OMSP % of OMSP % of OMSP

    VRT Category A,B,C D & E F &G

    0-24,000 30% 35% 40%

    24,000-32,000 24% 28% 32%

    32,000-40,000 18% 31% 34%

    40,000-48,000 12% 14% 16%

    48,000 + 6% 7% 8%

Didn't think there was BIK on a commercial

There's definitely BIK due on a commercial jeep. On something like a Toyota Land Cruiser/Land Rover Discovery commercial it is around €75 a month.
