Just got a 80gb PS3 recently in the Tesco sale. I'm planning on getting this 500 GB Sata Hard drive, this hard drive enclosure for the 80 GB drive I'm taking out, and putting on Yellow Dog. That hard drive was surprisingly cheap I thought. I checked and it seems to be compatible with the PS3 being a 2.5" Sata drive, and review seem fine. Ditto for the enclosure actually. Any see any problems with this?

I'm well used to linux already (using ubuntu now) so that side of things should be ok.

    you should be good
i could never get wireless to work on my YDL 6 on ps3 ? even though it had the built in ps3 drivers
so i uninstalled it, also a tip if you'd like when going through the installing process, i selected 1080 res, its was too high, even on my 42" i could barely read the writing, pick 720
    good luck

I got wireless working (eventually). The WPA encryption was a little troublesome. I used this guide to do it.
