What's the point in all the options?! Just give Buy, Sell, Hold. It'd make the results more readable (and believable).

Buy / Sell / Hold / Sit On Fence for people with shares / free cash / or an opinion. You may pick one or more options. The others are Atari Jaguar options. http://wiki.boards.ie/wiki/Atari_Jaguar

This afternoon I bought 7000 Bank Of Ireland at 0.72. They surged to 0.75 on the news, but later plunged to close at 0.68.

I was an accountant so know they can become valueless. Its a gambool.

Happy Christmas to all the mugs and shrewdies on boards "Investments & Markets". Good luck in 2009.

I took early retirement in November 2006 at age 56. A year or two earlier I resigned from the Institute of Chartered Accountants In Ireland. I can rejoin if I like but afaik there is a signing on fee of €2k to €3k, and I would have to pay the annual subsrription for each year since I resigned (about €600+ a year). So I could be back for about €5k ... about what I put into BOI today.

Get out the books and start studying.

Where and how did you buy them just out of curiosity? I can see them going as low as 50cent so i will wait until then to dig into my pockets.

I have two accounts with E*Trade - US and UK. I bought them with my E*Trade UK account. It was a bit of a drag opening the account, and after I sent them a £5000 sterling cheque it didn't appear on my account for weeks. Their mailroom lost the attached detail with my account number, name and address.

The trading screen on the site is a bit confusing as BOI are traded in Euro but you can only put a buy limit in £ sterling on the buy screen (unless I an misreading their screen). Today the buy took just a few minutes. I tried to buy earlier in the week at 82 but f***ed up, so that was nice. :pac:
