#1 - i like the scene but could definately do with some contrast.
#2 - doesn't have any particular focal point that the eye immediately gets drawn to. Perhaps a crop of three of the four birds grouped together (rhs) would work. Although i do think its interesting that their heads are all pointing the same way whatever was going on.
#3 - i think you might be better without the bird at the bottom - its crop'd in an irregular place. You have some camera shake issues / out of focus area in this too which imho doesn't help the overall composition. You can get away with it / or sometimes use it to be creative but on this occasion i think it just didn't work out right (only my opinion!).
#4 - this one is really good. Perhaps add a little contrast but not much. I like the composition and the reeds blowing in the wind in the foreground. nice. I even like it better that you kept this one to 800px wide :)
#5 - again this one makes quite a nice scene. I'd add a little contrast, but its a nice composition. I think the bird bottom right draws the eye as the main subject and its quite prominent. It looks a little soft in terms of focus but not too bad either.

Apologies but i'm going to make links of the images > 800px wide. You should be able to find an appropriate size under 'ALL SIZES' in flickr. 800px wide on the longest side is the max permissible - It really helps people on slow connections.

Also the way C&C works best is for you to pick one or possibly two images and say what you think about them and any particular areas that you want assistance with. The when you ask others for critique they will be better able to target their advice for you.

    Thanks.

Dont you apologise!!! Thanks so much - im learning and the only way to do that is if people tell me whats right/allowed.

I will keep the pic size in mind (If i understand it correctly they need to be the small size preferably).

All above pics were unprocessed except for crop or rotate. My favourite is the fourth one with the reeds. I love it. Boy was it windy today - I know I had camera shake but I did my best, and played around with different aperature and shutterspeeds.

Now to go back to the tutorials about contrast!!:p

When you view the image in flickr - just click the 'all sizes' option. It will show your image in a range of different sizes. Just pick one where the image size is less than / equal to 800pixels being the max on either side i.e. 750x600 is fine but 750x1050 wouldn't be.

Generally you will want to show off your image in a large enough detail for it to be appreciated so i think if i were you, i'd take the biggest image available under 'all sizes' which is as close to the 800pixel mark as possible. Again, golden rule - neither side of the image can be more than 800. After that you can select the largest.

If using pix.ie it gives you 'forum text' under the 'sizes option' which gives you the code to cut and paste into your message that hyperlinks back to the original image where someone viewing can select a larger size if they wish.

    Hope that helps.
