    Hi All,
Just a note to keep all interested ppl in the loop....
Apologies for the delay in launching Éireman. A senior official has been overseas for the past 6 weeks and that was holding up sign off. The meeting date for sign off is now set and then off we go.
Race organisers out there will know all too well the intricacy’s involved in getting approval in the first year. I believe we have put together a very exciting, fast and big new race. The website is ready the course is ready and Courtown Harbour is ready. We will go live after that meeting (I expect).
Here is a flavour of what’s going down on August 23rd
We have the full distance ÉIREMAN 3.8km, 180km, 42.2km. There won’t be any of.... (course is within WTC allowed 5% tolerance). The full distance will be completed folks.

    The Middle distance ÉIREMAN 1.9km, 90km, 21.1km

The ÉIREMAN INTRO (relay) 3.8km, 180km, 42.2km. You can do this as a team of 3 to 6 people. This is ideal for ppl at Olympic level or above to experience the big race atmosphere. It is mandatory that there are two swimmers for this and they most show evidence (a race result) of having finished an Olympic distance swim previously.

These 3 races will start together at 6.30am on the hooter.

ÉIREMAN warrior Kids race on Saturday (pool swim and run in forest).

And all the paraphernalia you’d expect at a Long distance Triathlon will be on location

I’ll leave it there and finish by saying....

NEXT SUMMER, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NEARLY 1,000 YEARS
SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE CROWNED ÉIREMAN.

This will all makes sense soon...

    Excellent. Well done, Eoin.

It's in my calendar. Should be a great day out.

Really looking forward to my first middle distance.

I don't know how I'm going to get my support team (Wife) motivated for that. She wouldn't be seen dead getting up at 06:30 let alone getting up in time for a 06:30 start. Oh well, I have plenty of time to build up brownie points for cashing in all at once.

    Regards,

    Liam

    Hi Liamo

That won't be a problem. Your Dearest can come along later... There will be access to Courtown all day long for Spectators and beach goers alike.

The team relay section part, how do you propose to run it as a 6 man team?

Will you have rules as to what length of discipline a member must undertake?

3 person team, one discipline each?

6 person, split each discipline into 2 or can all 3 do each discipline?

    Good question Bruce11.
You've asked me a few things here so I'll try to explain in one.

The route is based on laps.
2 laps Swim (mandatory that you need 2 ppl for this). They most show evidence (a race result) of having finished an Olympic distance swim previously. 3.8km
    4 laps Bike 180km
    2 laps Run 42.2km

That adds up to 8 sections. But we are limiting it to 6 ppl. So it depends how you want to carve it up as a team.

A team of 3 involves ppl getting more involved and for longer than a team of 6. In other words you can recycle ppl and give them a break and then they can go again. The timing chip will let us know if the whole course is completed. Its passed like a batton.

The purpose of the relay or Éireman INTRO is to allow ppl to experience the big race atmosphere
