Total Immersion classes in Ireland?

Are there even any Total Immersion swimming classes here?

I'd be interested in doing a course if I could. I've worked through the drills in the book but I feel I've taken it as far as I can on my own and I don't think I've fully nailed the technique.

I've seen enough improvement though that I think it would be worth doing the course if there was one not too far away.

What kind of improvement did you make using Total Immersion on your own?

I think the best measure of improvement is that I reduced the number of strokes per 25m length from 27 to 20.

I probably should point out that I'm planning on doing my first tri next year so I'm just trying to get to the stage where I can complete 750m without being too knackered getting on the bike.

Was looking into this myself as I have just started doing the drills form the DVD and book and thought that attending the course could be good. checked the TI UK website and there would seem to be a workshop on Jan 31/Feb 1 . upfront it looks pricey (£329 / €390) but if one can reduce energy and time spent on the swim section it can leave you in a good condituion for the bike/run sections.

Anyone out there got personal feedback on the merits of attending the TI course?

Spend the money on regular one on one lessons in Ireland. You'll get more from it.

I presume joining a masters group would be a big benifit as well.

    Guys,

I haven’t attended the class myself - it is a bit pricey, I started using the drills about 6 years ago, at my peak I had my stroke rate down to 11 for 25m, a little out of practice now unfortunately and haven’t been swimming on a regular bases fro about 2 years. I am unsure if the classes can make that much difference from doing the drills on your own of with a partner

Interesting. What was your time for 750m and 1500m?

Don't know never swam competitively, just to get fit, hoping if time permits to do a triathlon next year, i moved along much faster using a lower stroke rate i put all my engery into catching the water.
