Garmin - additional software?

Been thinking about getting a Garmin for a while now, but I'm wondering if it's possible to install other software on them and if so what models might be able to do it. Something like MP3 players, DivX players etc... Anyone tried this, or is it even possible?

It's not possible, you take what you get and can't add any applications.

You should look at the new Archos devices. Seems to do everything bar cook your breakfast.
