No, Sony does not charge anything - what you're paying for is your broadband connection with your ISP, it does not matter what you use it for. The only time you would spend money on the PS3 is if you want to buy something from the Playstation Store.

It can't get viruses really and programs like Norton Internet Security (or other Windows applications) can't even be installed on it...

PS3 internet play is free, also PS3s wont get viruses, or there are none yet anyway, no anti virus system needed...

Sony don't charge you anything for it. Some things in the psn store will cost you but you have to enter your credit card details for that so you'll know before you buy it. I haven't heard of any viruses for the ps3 yet. Software has to be coded for the target platform so it won't get viruses designed for windows based pcs and norton won't work on your ps3. You shouldn't have to worry about viruses on your ps3.

There is an anti-virus that came with a firmware for the browser. It cant get virus anyway but there is a anti-virus preinstalled and im sure that they will update it through firmware updates anyway.

Edit: its called Trend Micro antivirus.
