LAST night I was delighted to hear the Taoiseach announce that all non-civil service advisers & programme managers would be sacked; all junior ministers would be dispensed with; all Dail committees would be closed down; no politician would be allowed to collect a pension until he or she actually retired and then would only be allowed to collect one State pension.
As a result it was announced that there would now be funds available to allow all over- 70s have medical cards, young girls receive the cervical cancer vaccine, class sizes remain at present levels and the surplus would be available to help balance the Budget.

Then I woke up and realised it had all been just a dream.
