I baught a HD LCD t.v. recently mainly for PS3 it came with built in Freeview. As it is in my bed room I only have a small stand alone aerial. I tuned it just to check if I can pick up digital. I can get some channels but not all. Does some channels come in a different digital frequency than others? I thought if there was a signal I could get all available channels. The channels I have are perfect but BBC channels etc say poor signal.

I can get ITV3 +1 but cant get any other ITV channels why would this be the case?

    Cheers in advance

Your signal strength is just too weak.
Some of the muxes may be on a different power output to others.
You are getting signal presumably from Divis.

Run into argos and get an indoor aerial with an amp and that should improve things.

You can see how the various channels are grouped here.

Depending on where exactly you are, an indoor aerial might not be suffcient. Try moving it so you get the best possible picture with the analogue tuner first. Have you tried the TV with the main (living room) set up?

As already explained weak signal. Before you go an by an amplifier, move the indoor aerial to the window. If signal still weak get one of the Philex amps as suggested in the thread below. Will sort your problem.

I am looking at this website and wondering why I get a channel thats below average power and not the channels thats the best power. Is that due to aerial position? I am going to try it on the main aerial and save the settings then switch to the stand alone see if that works.

I was just thinking the aerial I have plugs in and has a power setting on the side would this be an amp aerial. I am a bit clueless when it comes to all this.

Sometimes being at the foot of a mountain with the tx at the top you can have problems due to being in the shadow of the mountain and the signal ie in a narrow area just behind the beam.
If you can see the mast you should be in business.
If you can see it from your window, you are very much in business!

As for getting some muxes that are low power and not the higher ones, theres a range of possible answers there.
Sometimes the frequency you are on just travels better.
There could also be local interference [eg electrical appliances in your house or next door] causing enough interference.
The likes of that comes into play when you do not have an outdoor aerial.

Also when you are very close to the tx power is actually not the issue. That only comes into play the further out from the tx that you go and definitely not within a few miles and within sight of a main tx like Divis.
