Legimate badasses in WWE?

A couple of years back the only legimate badasses in WWE were Taker and Angle, is there anyone else there apart from the deadman these days? I know Orton laid out Kenny Dykstra so he's the only one that immediately comes to mind.

    determine "Badass"

Someone who you'd back to win if a match turned into a real fight.

Well Jericho had Goldberg in a headlock for a solid 5 minutes a few years ago, but i don't think that counts!

    From Wiki:

Prudius has won numerous achievements, becoming 2005 USA Open Heavyweight Sambo Champion and United States Kickboxing Association (USKBA) International Heavyweight Grappling Champion. He has also played American football for the Ukrainian National Team as well as Santa Barbara College.

I think most wrestlers compared to the average guy are extremely tough but in terms of being able to compete in combats sports, very very few of them would be competitive.

Sorry i was wrong there . Partially , i remember now he wasnt a sambo or wrestling champion. He studied them alright. WWE wanted that to be his gimmick with the i love double double E.

Oh yeah forgot about how bad his stuff at the start was, double double E...... quality stuff!

No one said Finlay. Tut tut.

If we're talking about all time my money would be on Haku. Bad News Brown bigged him up as the baddest man he's seen around and that's good enough for me.

While on the subject of Koslov,
    Is this true?:
Mick Foley sung the melody and a parody of the chorus during the entrance of Vladamir Kozlov on an episode of WWE Smackdown in 2008. Foley sang, "a little bit of Kozlov," for the then musicless Kozlov
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mambo_No._5

Also, anyone else think he should have kept the whole 'I love the double double E"? I thought it was funny, dunno if it would have stayed being funny of course.

I'm more of a lurker here than a poster...but I'd say if it came down to it that Regal could probably take most of the guys. In his WCW days he had quite a rep for being a "badass"

This made me laugh. Considering the guy practically sh*t a brick when he was challenged by a couple of guys at Westwood gym back around 2005 when they caught him phlemming all over the floor there.

Just because his character tells you he's a badass doesn't make it so folks.
Now that i'm done busting your bubble, i'll see you all later. :)

oh yeah i remember that, it was in the sunday world or some other rag!

    Source: W365]

-- There was a negative story about The Undertaker and WWE in a U.K. newspaper recently. According to the newspaper, Undertaker was spotting working out at a gym in Ireland a few days ago, and was blowing his nose on to the floor. When one of the employees of the gym asked him to stop, Undertaker reportedly told him to "Shut the f*** up", and that the United States saved their asses in the war, or words to that effect.

I don't know about Regal. He's never trained in any legitimate fighting. I know there's stories about how he'd take on guys from the audience in Blackpool, but they were all either plants or a gang of wrestlers would kick the challengers onto the floor before they got to enter the ring

    For you, CBG: http://angrymarks.com/music/songs/mackemman-Kozlov_Number_5.mp3

EDIT: Hang on! Foley did sing the melody of that song on Smackdown one time, I remember seeing it. That song I linked to must have come from that. I'll see if it's on Youtube

    Success:

That's definitely Foley singing it :pac:

They asked him to stop and he went along the lines of "you would be speaking German if it wasnt for the americans"

Not fighting was the right thing to do . I wouldnt say he is not a bad ass.

Maintain all you want dude, just because he can throw on a couple of MMA moves doesn't man he could handle himself in a gang fight.

I'd go with Regal or Finlay too, oh, and welcome back MNG, you've been missed. :)

I forgot John Cena. He's got great "pound and ground" according to Micheal Cole.

He'll do well against Koslov's Mambo skills*

Yeah it is, i remember this! Later on in the match (i think) is where he said that Koslov had the style, colour and finesse of a UPS truck, that nearly made me spit out my beer and cough up my pizza.

I've since stolen that phrase for my own use replacing UPS truck with Dublin City Council garbage van. :D

In a 1v1 fight, you don't need someone watching your back :D
That said, they don't come bigger and dumber than Mark Calloway.

Saved our asses in the war indeed, what war?

Ill object if someone says I’m playing semantics here. I thought to be classed as a legitimate badass you need legitimacy or at least a tested reputation as a badass?
    homercles wrote: »

Undertaker is a former basketball player with skinny legs. Who needed double knee and hip replacements TEN years ago. He doesn’t have legitimacy.
I would say Jericho is one or anyone who was trained in the Stu's Hart dungeon

Jericho wasn’t trained in the dungeon. Anyway Jericho admits he didn’t know what he was doing the fight with Goldberg and got the headlock by a fluke.

This weeks Observer had someone that made me question the prestige of this win:
Kozlov (under his real name of Oleg Prudius) was the 2005 U.S. sambo champion in the superheavyweight division, winning the tournament in Manalapan, NJ. That isn’t as impressive as it sounds as there were only 30 competitors spread out among nine different divisions, so there were only three or four guys in his weight. He also did some kickboxing years back. He had trained in sambo in the Ukraine and may have been a champion there, and played football in Europe before moving to California to try and make it as an actor.
No one said Finlay. Tut tut.

Finlay is a 50 year old man who has limited feeling in one of his legs and very poor vision. Finlay is no doubt tough but Dave Taylor used to school Regal and Finlay in shoot wrestling contests.
I'm more of a lurker here than a poster...but I'd say if it came down to it that Regal could probably take most of the guys. In his WCW days he had quite a rep for being a "badass"

Regal in his book doesn’t consider himself as a badass and most of his rep is fiction.

I don’t think Finlay has that background. Even if he does that statement is a bit offensive.

If you want my opinion is that as I’ve said before Shelton Benjamin as he is one of the best college athletes ever in WWE, he came from a very rough background and UFC Champion Brock Lesnar thinks that Shelton has the best shot at MMA out of the WWE locker room. He has a legitimate background and has the reputation of a tough guy.

I’m not saying any of these lads aren’t tough as they endure unimaginable amounts of pain but most aren’t legitimate badasses.

Lesnar isn't dumb, he's somewho who worked hard at MMA over the last two or so years and defeated a legend who came back after over a one year layoff. Much as i rooted for Couture in that fight, Lesnar knew exactly what he was doing in there.

    There's an essential difference there.
