Scar Tissue

    Hi all,

When I was 4 years old I spilled a pot of tea on my stomach and since then (I am now 25) I have had a scar stretching from my navel to my nipples. It is quite large and unsightly (but clean) and while I may have grown up with it and gotten used to it I feel like I want rid of it. What I want to know is if someone can help me, is it worth me holding out hope that I can have this scar tissue removed and have my skin look some what normal?

BTW I am a girl if that makes a difference

    Hey Chinese Mafia,
sorry to hear about your accident as a kid, hope the memories arent too bad! is the scar wide/raised? l dont know of any official surgical options, but you'd need to see a plastic surgeon for their opinion. l know a plastic surgeon that recommends using vitamin E capsules (you can buy them in chemist or health shop in cpasules which you pop and squeeze out the oil from the inside). you rub the oil into the area every night for a few weeks and its supposed to reduce the scar. l know there are other products on the market, such as bio-oil, but they can be expensive.

    best of luck!

I think it might be the surgeons knife too. The skin is raised as I needed to get grafts on my skin to aid the healing and it give my skin this smooth yet fake feeling and it looks way off colour not to mention the deformation of my breast which will also need reshaping of some kind. Is there a name on the procedure used I see that soccer player can get scar tissue removed, Is this the same thing?
