Barcelona Marathon

I really want to take part in the Barcelona marathon but i have one issue. I am working on Sunday 28th Feb and thus cannot get over in good time. There is an evening flight from Dublin soon after 6 that arrives in Barcelona at 21:35. That would mean i wouldn't be in my hotel/apartment until at least 23:30. Would i be crazy going with that? Work will be manic that day (Ire v Eng - 6 nations) so I wouldn't exactly be well rested. With a 8.30 start for the marathon i'd be able to get a maximum of 5 1/2, 6 hrs sleep.

Would i be mad to go for this? Or would plenty of sleep in the days leading up coupled with possibly an hours kip ion the plane make it doable?

Hmmm, a bit mad yeah!

Will you also be able to get your running pack form the expo? I'm not sure you can get this on the day itself. I emailed them a while back on the official Marato de Barcelona site - they cam e back quickly and were very helpful.

I was seriously thinking of this, but I've come to the conclusion that my training won't be up to scratch in time :mad:

Am entered myself, anyone else here doing it ?
Back to running alternating 5m and 6.2m with a 6.2 last night so back in the swing of things now.
Will have to step it up soon as have on 13 weeks or so to the marathon now.
Starting with 8m early next week I'd say.

managed to wriggle out of working that weekend so im all go now. Only problem is im trying to register and the page that is trying to load for the payment is just hanging and not loading. Its doing this 20 minutes now! Anyone else have difficulty?

Hey folks,
new to this site. Am headin over to do the Barcelona Marathon on the 1st. My non running mate pulled out of going over because he decided to buy a new sofa instead .... to sit his lazy ass on
Anyways, i will be trying to beat my pb of 3.28, i was wondering if there are any other irish going over who i can meet up with / go for a few jars with afterwards.
