I have tendonitis in my wrist, have never managed to clear it properly, I do a lot of driving, roughly 3 hrs a day which I know cant be helping but stopping is not an option! anti inflamatories do not help- either in tablet form or rub on creams- ive been going for Bowen therapy which has been a great help- the lump in my wrist has reduced by over half in 2 sessions.

Is there anything else - besides resting it- that I could be doing to speed up the healing or prevent it recurring??

See a health professional, not ask a bunch of crackpots like us. We could tell you anything.

    well here's a real crackpot one :D

I don't have tendonitis.... just sore wrists sometimes so I don't know if this would work for you or not ie I'm not giving you medical advice just telling what helps me ! When I'm sitting doing nothing or watching the telly or whatever I roll a golf ball between my wrists, not really hard but with just a little pressure. It just seems to loosen things up a bit. I've no idea why.

    I'm not a health professional.

If its definitely been diagnosed as tendonitis seeing a chartered physio may help.

I get sore wrists and elbows, so I know the pain... One thing I have come across again and again is that people wear wrist supports during the night that ensure you can't bend it while you're sleeping. I've never tried it as my conditions is an on and off and never gets too bad and the cause in my case seems to be my neck, so I go to a chiropractor to get adjusted every so often and that does help me.

Don't take the advice of anyone here, you have absolutely no idea whether it will help or hinder your case. Golf balls and wristbands in anecdotes are worthless. Medicine is based on evidence and anecdotes are not evidence.

If you feel you need something more than your current treatment, talk to your doctors and explain the situation to them. If anything more can be done, they'll help you do it.

Go see your doctor or a physiotherapist. I had trouble a bit like yours and the physio I went to see worked wonders. Whatever you do, don't self-medicate.
