1 guitar, 1 amp....

So lets say for some unknown god damn awful reason you have to stick with one guitar/bass and one amp for the rest of your life- what would it be? Stuff you already own or some mad custom made to your own specs kind of thing? Theres no swapsies options or anything and before someone chips in- you have leads, a tuner but no effects pedals are allowed!!

I think I'd be happy with either my Bacchus LP or Gibson semi and my Matamp, I reckon Ive finally got to that point where youre actually happy with your gear!! (Its about time:P)

    What about you though....

At the mo i'd say my Bacchus Gplayer 05 and my blues deluxe with ted weber ceramic speaker. But there's so many other guitars/amps i haven't tried so i'm only going by what i know!

Ampwise, a Mesa Roadking 2x12 combo and a 2x12 extension cab, for the laugh.

Guitar, I really don't know. Do I go to a shred monster, floyd rose and all? Maybe my Eggle? Although, a Bacchus LP would be rather enjoyable.

Guitar - Definitely my '87 Gibson Les Paul Jr.
Amp - I'm not sure yet... still trying to figure that out. Preferably a 1x12 tube combo. :)

Not really a guitarist, so my old Les Paul, and my current bass rig, a Marshall MB450H + 1x15 cab would do the job just fine.

    Hmm.

I would have to say G&L 25th anni. with Coil split.

    and a Cornford MK50 II.

    Yummy.

Easy. Mesa/Boogie MKIV and my torquoise Ibanez J-Custom.

The Boogie MKIV is the best sounding amp ive played, and very versatile. And there's just something about that particular Ibanez that has made it my favourite guitar since the day I got it.

A fat tele with a humbucker in the neck and an orange customshop 30watt with the old option of killing the dry signal and using only the verb signal! :D

A Strat through a Twin Reverb - end of story! :)

His Bacchus G-player. Lucky fecker :D.

Probably a strat with a trem-king tremolo, H-S-H with a Duncan JB, Kinman traditional single and Duncan 59. Played through my JTM45. Uber versatility :).

Hehe, is this the kind of story that doesnt involve overdrive? ;).

Gretsch Anniversary and a Fender Super Reverb. I should really get a Super 'verb. And another Gretsch... a sparkly green one this time. That would be nice.

For bass give me a 5 string musicman through an Ashdown Klystron.

For guitar give me my L.T.D. Viper through my Beat up randall rg 75.

A shock that i didnt put down a PRS there, but to be honest with you if i had to play one thing for the rest of my life I want it to be something IM accustomed to, that will get me MY sound and feel great to ME.

For bass it'll always be my trusty old ESP Jazz, I've got no reason to change the Ashdown as is, so that can stay too.

Guitarwise, ah the Ampeg and the Eggle, that'll do.

Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci signiature, and Engl Invader.

Clapton Signature Strat and a Fender Deluxe Reverb, I think that was the amp I played it through. It was the best gear I've ever played, I'd be happy with just that.

Today, it would be my Tokai LS200 and Mesa LSS.

Gimmie an AC30TB and an Epi Casino Elitist...

If I ever had the money.... /crys

Well, since a few mentioned bass, I'd choose my Traben Kore in bead, and if I could, some kind of Trace Elliot stack, though my Marshall would do.

Guess I gotta pick a bass and amp also. :p

For bass it'd have to be my trusty Aria Pro II SB Elite II, and I'm pretty damn happy with my GB Shuttle 6.0. Although I'd like to add a 1x12 to the current 2x10. :)

I've been thinking about this all day and can't decide, more bluesy Eggle NY or more versatile Berlin Pro. The NY thru' an AC30 would be pretty sweet me thinks. No idea about basses.

My Gretsch 6120 and my brand spanking new Mighty Deluxe Reverb.

An early 70's metal face JMP 50, a 4 X 12 basket weave with greenbacks and a '59 Les Paul.
Would there be any chance of sneaking in a '64 AC30, SLO100, Roadster combo a USA Strat Deluxe and possibly an ESP as well?

Have you got one of those????

No, I wish. I haven't got a '59 Les Paul or a basketweave cab either, I thought it was an if thread.
I do have a '71 JMP 50 though which I'm very proud of.:)

And so you should be, i am currently en route to where you live to savagely bludgeon you and steal it.
JMP's are excellent for proper 70's rock (purple, Zep, Sabbath, Riot etc...) nothing beats em

May not be the best setup in the world but it would be immensely versatile.

    A Meteor - did i put Rocket?

picked it up for €50 few years back with a water damaged Takamine case

It spent 14 years up on a wall - horribly out if tune - no intonation - got my boss to admit it was a "piece of crap" and offered to take it off his hands

Has a bigsby too - a retro fitted metal bridge and the original DeArmonds

Some laughs to be had by playing through both of them, so much distortion it sounds like gunfire mixed with bagpipes....
