Really Bad Rash

    Hi

Last night I developed a really bad rash all over my body.

I didnt eat/drink/wear anything different than I would normally eat/drink/wear during the course of yesterday, or the day before, or the day before that for that matter.

The only thing that sticks out in my head is that I went to the gym and this all happened 20 mins after leaving the gym. Maybe the equipment/mats were sanitised with a new product??

I do remember feeling a little over tired an hour before going to the gym, and I did notice that strangely at the beginning of the fitness class my coordination was really funny. I go to this class every week, and know the routine like the back of my hand, however I kept getting mixed up at the start of the class.

Now I went to my GP this morning, and she doesnt think there is any need to worry. I had no appointment though and was sitting in the surgery 3hours before being seen, by which time the lumpiness and redness of the rash had gone down. So she didnt see it at its worst at all. I explained to her that it does calm down, only to flare up again after a while. After asking all the usuals, she gave me a prescription for DELTACORTRIL ENT steroids (6 a day for 3 days) and ZIRTEK (2 a day for 14 days)

Already I can feel a difference which is great, but before I got to the chemist, my skin started to feel very tight, and the rash had spread everywhere, including my fingers and toes.

At the moment, I can still feel a slight itch, and as the itchiness cools down the skin feels a little sore (this could be down to scratching) I have a really bad headache, and the rash is still very visible. The guy at the chemist told me to watch out for stiff joints, I do feel a bit stiff, but again, that may be down to the gym!

My question is, does anyone know what could have caused this? I know thats a hard question, but has anything similar ever happened to anyone else.

Sorry about the long winded post!!

    Thanks for any help

EDIT: I should also point out that a skin condition of any kind is very strange for me, as I normally have excellent skin, Ive never had dry skin, I hardly use any products, make up, perfume, fake tan... and Ive rarely had a spot or blemish (I know Im very lucky!)

I doubt anyone here could tell you. If it continues and the meds your doc gave you don't seem to work go straight back to him. Maybe see a dermatologist? Although if there's headache involved too it might not just be a skin condition.
