Am I the only one sick of people harping on about this? Babies die everyday, and its not like it was our social services.

I'd rather care about a dead child than care so much about not caring about a dead child that I have to post a thread stating just how I don't care about a dead child.

    Ow, my head.

Jesus thats very f*cking harsh! did you hear exactly what happened to the poor lad??

I'm not sick of hearing about its progress, his scumbag mother and step-dad should be shot!

And the fact that its england doesnt make a blind bit of different, its still a 17month child who was tortured in a way no person should ever have to!

But this happens in Africa and Asia alot, so why only now are you starting to care?

Because this is different. While the two situations are equally tragic, the UK is a first world country with checks supposedly in place to ensure this doesn't happen. Those checks failed for whatever reason. It's worth talking about because our system isn't much different so the same thing could probably happen here too.

What do you want? Random spot checks on parents?

Have you got a TV licence? Dog licence? Any babies in there?

exactly you have to have a licence for all of those except the babies!!

The hard cold facts are that this child was brought before the necessary people, doctors, child welfare officers and police.

All did nothing they all stood by and watch this child come to them over 60 times in a worse state than before and they let him back to the care of his mother and step father.

He had a broken back, pelvis and many other visual signs of abuse and was seen by a doctor while suffering all of these days before tis murder.

I'm a father of 2 and if anyone lays a finger on them I will do time for them. but to allow this to happen goes beyond human contemplation.

It takes a real evil person to stand by and see a 17 month old boy been kicked battered hung and thrown against a wall. you would not see the likes on tv it was so bad and nobody would do it to an animal.

to ask why are we still harping opn about it? I dunno its a story like many that will eventually fade into the background so tarry a little my friend and it will be all over till the next child is ignored by the system and ends up 6 feet under.

when that happens come back and ask yourself why were we talking about it. as a parent i dont want it to happen to another child because that child should be loved by their parents as much as i love my children and if that means that social services, here or across the pond or anywhere, can remove that child so that it may be loved by someone because the people who do this to children dont deserve them.

I have. But that's not a reason to be all jaded and cynical about the Baby P case receiving so much attention. Although, Sky News and the gutter rags... well I hope they made plenty of advertising/circulation revenue from the disgustingly salacious approach they took by publishing all those hideous pictures.

Hideously exploitative and yet another form of sickness...
