    Hi!

I installed rockbox onto my iaudio x5 last week and am happy with it so far.
I'm just wondering though...if I installed it onto my sisters ipod touch would it eliminate the need to use i-tunes?
Is it recommended for ipod touches?
I have never owned an ipod so I'm not familiar with itunes etc, but would rockbox be recommended for it?
Also, same q about the iphone (as I am thinking of getting one at some stage).

    Thanks a million :)

It's not available for the iPod Touch I'm afraid.

Hey, while i can't comment on rockbox (cos i've never used it before) I am nearly 100% certain that MediaMonkey works fine with ipods...

    Why would anyone bother?

Why one would bother is irrelevant really...but i'll humour you...generally people do things because they want to or because they have to...the more interesting question is why would you bump this dead thread with a post that helps no one and answers nothing?

because rockbox is indeed excellent as a replacement platform for your player and becuae media monkey is a vastly superior replacement for itunes.

Mediamonkey will synch to your ipod grand. Its irrelevant whether you use rockbox or not. The rockbox site lists what devices are compatible btw. Those Cowon X5's are pretty cool too!
