Has anyone here got experience with Laptops Direct, specifically for macs?

They seem to have an ok name on here.

Selling Macbooks from 820, which is interesting.

Yeah but when you go to order it, just at the very end there is some mad shipping and handling tax they add on to it, though it will still work out that little bit cheaper. Try placing and order to see what I mean, don't worry you can opt out at the end after you see the total cost..

Good company and delivery from them is fine. They are actually huge in the UK and have a good name there too.

Hmm it's definitely something I would consider. The more I think about it the more confident I would be in buying off them.

It's great to see intel mac laptops become relatively affordable.

Apple have some interesting refurb deals right now too. :D

I'm in the market for a Core2Duo macbook. Was thinking second-hand but disappointed at some of the prices people are looking for on adverts. Might wait till after xmas.

Not sure about Macs specifically, but I bought an HP server from them and service was excellent - shipping was a bit on the pricey side, but it was the only time I ever got anything from the UK delivered on the very next day.

What kind of charge is it? Any time I have ordered from the site before the total cost including delivery has been about €20 more that the advertised price of the laptop. Considering the delivery has been within two days at most, it's a very cheap price to pay.

Just search the forums for laptopsdirect and you will find quite a number of posts that aren't happy with the company at all. I think thay are mainly in the Computers & Technology and the Laptops fora.

Yup, truly awful company.... "cowboys" jumps to mind.... I'd say stay well and truly away, but can't force you to ;)

I know a few people who have bought off them without issue. People are quicker to post comments about negative experiences. However I'd recommend the Apple Refurb store if you want a Mac.

Laptops direct have great prices on mac's, even better then the Apple educational site.
If they get the basic MacBook Pro in stock soon I'll be buying from them.

Prob better going to the Apple Store Belfast and getting the Macbook (white) (thats the old 'middle' one that's at €926 on the Laptops Direct page I think) and getting one for €843 - might come to €850 or 860 by the time your CC company has done the exchange.
