This film is quite frankly the best martial arts movie in existence.

I only saw this movie for the first time earlier this year and assumed it was made in the late 70's, but apparently it was made in '94.

It has absolutely everything one could hope for from a movie, great acting, comedy, storyline (for what it is), and martial arts choreography that is second to none displaying athleticism that is out of this world!!

Personally I find that Jackie Chan movies need to be watched dubbed, I've never seen one subtitled and I don't want to, I think for comedy effect dubbed is best, and it works really really well in this movie.

Star of the movie for me (other than Jackie) is Anita Mui (RIP), who plays Jackie's stepmother, incredible comedic actor (probably helped somewhat by the dubbing) and not too bad on the eye either:)

Yep, Drunken Master and Legend of Drunken Master are fantastic films.

Saw both of them for the first time earlier this year (in the wrong order though), the choreography in both films is absolutely jaw dropping.

Funny dialogs mixed with terrible dubbing is also hilarious.

Have to agree. I had seen quite a few martial arts movies before seeing this and was blown away. The choreography is amazing throughout. Unlike most other martial arts movies, this one doesn't even try to fill out the main story (something about exporting artifacts right?), it's unashamedly all about the fighting. It also has one of the best final acts of any Martial Arts movies I've ever seen, maybe rivaled by the likes of Ong Bak or Game of Death
