I am quite annoyed to say the least...

    So I heard of a guy named John Duignan who was a member of The Church of Scientology (CoS) for about 20 years. He's an Irish guy from Cork. Having heard his story on Marian Finucane's show on RTÉ Radio 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPsYMFFhpZE as well as on Phantom 105.2, I figured I'd go buy his book...
    However, CoS had managed to have sale and distribution of the book blocked due to "defamation" and "libel"... They've not even READ the thing as of now... How dare this group basically flagrantly disregard Article 19 of The UN Declaration of Human Rights (Freedom of Speech) and attempt to have a say in what I can and cannot be exposed to? It's up to them to prove that the book is lies, and to do that, I'd hope they'd bother reading it first. I'm going to read Dianetics... I had no problem finding copies of that by the way...
    The book CAN be ordered and obtained still from the following URL:

    So... is boards.ie hostile to the protests?

    Because if not there is one Dec 13th.

    And buy the book - its pretty good actually.

    There's a "flashraid" on Sunday, November 30th at 1pm as well. It's outside the Academy Hotel, 10-14 Findlater Place, off Upper O'Connell St. Be there!

    Re: criticism of Scientology - south park have said all that needs to be said about it.

    Re; freedom of speech - there is also a right to reputation, and it is a specious argument to stand on the right to freedom of speech when all you are doing is defaming someone else.

    How is it defamation? Duignan's book is a true story?
