Watermarks and Frames?

    Have decided to use flickr to upload pics and to edit with, but where do I add in frames and watermarks??:o (Thanks.........again:D)

    View the photo in flickr. Click EDIT PHOTO in flickr. this will load the picnic interface. Click CREATE. Click FRAMES.

    You get a choice of two in the standard version before it becomes eh..., not free. The first one is quite alright though.

    By the way: If you use the regular picnic.com interface (free version) you get 3 extra frames more than the flickr integrated feature.

    this presumably re-compresses the jpeg and gets lossier, if that's a word. I'm not liking what flickr is doing to jpegs on scaling them...

    im assuming one can work with RAW in flickr too?

    Been a while since i've examined what flickr will do for you but i don't think processing RAW is one of its skills (Jpeg all the way), thus the problem that Hugh references is very real - JPEG being a lossy format i.e. loses quality each time it is saved due to compression (afaik). A simple canvas resize in the Gimp (from the other thread) would put a black border on it, or check out the Decor menu (also in the Gimp).
