    Hi All,

I recently bought a 2nd hand car but no locking remote/fob came with it. I reckon it already has an alarm and remote central locking installed alright, so I guess I just need a new keyfob to lock the doors etc. Not knowing the first thing about alarms, can anyone recommend a place in Galway where I might get a remote? Would a new one just need to be re-programmed to work on my car.. ?

    thanks for the help,
    Gavin.

make, year and model of car might help but if you think it has an alarm and central locking id say it would be cheaper to just get a new alarm fitted and get the c/l hooked up to it.

new key fobs dont come cheap when they need to be programmed.

Thanks for the reply Markos. It's an '99 Alfa 156. Dunno what the make of alarm is..
Anyone here tried doing a DIY alarm installation.. would this be straightforward if I bought a basic system?

    no probs,

if your an electrics wiz then ye give it a go ,if not then get it done by someone that knows what there at,it can be a bit tricky to find the central locking wires and have them all working in the same direction as in all locking at the same time it easy to get these mixed up.

youll get a cheap alarm fitted for about €130 id say.
