HYPE at Pod officially launches this Friday [21.11.08] as Subject join forces with long time Irish House Dj Bubbles for a night of deep, uplifting House music, in the Main Room and variations of House [Soul, Funk & Disco] in the Lobby Bar. Bubbles anchors the Main Room where he will be joined each week by friends, lovers and family. Strictly House. Strictly for groovers...In the Lobby Bar Subject Dj's are joined by weekly guest Dj's playing a soundtrack of Soul, Funk, Disco & House. Forthcoming November/December guests include the first lady of Irish House - Aoife Nic Canna, Dublin Soul providers - Groovement Soul, Re-Edit duo - Keep Schtum, Detroit enthusiasts - TR One/Broken Audio Movement, Wave Music's - John Daly and Freerange Records main man - Jimpster.


The Residents - An introduction...


Bubbles:
Main Room resident and back where he belongs is Bubbles. After a lengthly exodus Bubbles returns to the Pod with his bag of deep, uplifting House music. Best known for his residencies at Odyssey [which regularly attracted over 500 people to the Pod every Sunday] and Soul Central at Switch, his versatile yet international flavoured House sound has seen him support an impressive list of names down through the years. He recently enjoyed his return to Djing with a string of appearances up/down, in/out and around Asia and Australia. An appearance at this years Electric Picnic [in the Ukiyo tent, a tent which vibrated all weekend to the sound of deep, dubby Disco & House] stamped his return to the turntables. Alternating between both the Lobby Bar and the Main Room at HYPE are Subject Dj's. Subject began in the summer of 2007 with a goal of promoting quality non-genre specific music...To date they have held residencies at Traffic [SWIRL - Their Sunday club, which ran for a year at the venue], Dame Lane [where SWIRL currently takes place every Sunday] and now HYPE at Pod. Previous international bookings include; Dj Rolando, David Duriez, Milton Jackson, SWAG [Chris Duckenfield], John Daly, Dj Harri, Surgeon, Alan Oldham aka Dj T-1000, Atjazz, Steve Kotey & more. Their include not exclude attitude has welcomed Dj's from all over Ireland including representatives from Irelands top promoters and labels such as, Electric City, Bodytonic, Shock!, 52 Funk, OneTrackPresents, D1, Nice&Nasty, Republik Dj's and Mode Music who have all played alongside new/upcoming talent as well as firm favourites such as Billy Scurry and Aoife Nic Canna.
