well if that mileage is genuine it should be a decent enough buy if you dont plan on going anywhere in a hurry.the non-turbo engine is pretty simple.a buddy of mine has one just about to start its 3rd time around the clock and its running sweet.the rest of the car is getting a bit rough though

as far as i know there is the wrong engine in that car. anyway go about 3 years nower and get the hdi engine. its a rocket and its bullet proof.

mmm the milage seems very low for that type of car

I would not pay much attention to what the odometer reads on a diesel car of that age to be honest. We know the engines generally are capable of huge mileage but the rest of the car may need major work done. At this stage major components like suspension, steering and brakes may need replacing which can add up to costing more than the car. Just make sure a mechanic has checked it out prior to buying so that there are no nasty surprises in store.

That's a 406 SLDT. Didn't think they came in non turbo, wasn't the base model the ancient 1.9 XUD 90bhp ?

SDI is a Volkswagen term by the way.

Re: HDI versus old tech XUD, a lot of people prefer a simpler less advanced engine in a car of this age.

No mention of a non-turbo model. I could have sworn the buddy's one din't have a turbo. my bad...
