    Hi,

I have noticed that my DVR has started making a buzzing noise recently. It is not all the time and happens when it has been on for over an hour (which is not long really). Has anyone else noticed this? I have had it about nine months now.

    Thanks,
    D8 Player

Nope, can't hear mine at all. The only time it makes any noise at all is when it's put in and out of standby. Maybe the disk is on it's way out?

Maybe the fan is starting to wear out.
Is the room very warm most of the time, or is the DVR in a cabinet?

Its in a TV unit but its well ventilated and has nothing around it other than what its resting on.

It doesn't have a fan, does it?

I got a DVR on Saturday, and if its on standby and recording, it noises constantly, but I just thought it was normal.

Well, if it's recording then the disk is spinning, whether it's in standby or not. Personally I can't hear mine unless I go and stick my ear right next to it, which isn't too conducive to watching the TV as well :) And if it's recording in standby I'm not there so it doesn't bother me then either.
