Maybe the driver didn't see him, maybe the driver wasn't even exceeding the speed limit.
****ing hell, THIS is what passes for a news story?! Sky News is such tripe...

Isn't there a warning light for that?

Did you see the car? The bonnet is smashed up and all.

You would think that he would have stopped the car to see how much damage had been done anyway.

Moral of the story, if you see and animal/person on the road speed up, you dramatically increase their chances of survival!

This is the kind of Daily Mail crap that has its readers up in arms, and then the very same readers would advocate being slowly roasted to death as a suitable punishment for paedophilia.

    LOL

If your doing 70, in a rush, hit some small furry creature and its not Halloween, why would you stop?

How's it "hit and run" if the victim is not left at the scene?

It's called hit and run. It does not say anything about if you carry them with you or not.

Speeding, driving without due care, dangerous driving...

No mention of him exceeding the speed limit. It says 70mph on a side road. Could have been akin to our equivalent of a main road.

Speed limit in Italy is 90km/h on a normal road. Only higher if it's a dual carriage way or motorway in which cases it's 110km/h and 130km/h respectively.

    90km/h = 56mph

    So he was speeding.

Five more minutes of my life wasted. But the title of this thread (why did I originally type "email". hmm!) is misleading. It's not really a hit and run if you're dragging the 'run' with you. 'Hit and drag' maybe?
