Is your job worse than jail?

Well they say the punishment with jail is being denied your freedom. However they forget that most law-abiding people are being denied their freedom for a decent portion of their waking lives. And I might hypothesise that most organised criminals simply regard jail as a possible occupational risk (i.e. part of the job) and they get paid for it.

So, accepting the fact that your almost-life sentence is non-sequential (i.e. you get to visit home quite often), how does your job compare to (or is worse than) jail?

Its not, but I did a stint in a supermarket checkout when I was younger and that was pure hell. I felt like I was in prison.

What if your job was working in a jail?

    Better or worse?

Im a company representative so tomorrow I could be sitting by the pier in Dingle having a sandwhich or working in the middle of an underground kitchen in Cork City.

Every day is different so not quite jail in my case.

The trick is to work in something you enjoy, hard but possible. Better yet become a millionaire, it takes a lot of push to escape the gravitational downward spiral pull of money and all its attendant miseries. We force each other to make money.

My job is grand I have to say. I wouldn't stay in it if it wasn't. No job is worth being miserable for.

My worst job was cleaning along edges of shelves with cotton buds in centra. For £1.20 a f*cking hour.

Having visited Mountjoy on a tour, I would have to say I would prefer it there than Centra.

    I like my job too..

Like if you've been out of a job for a few months you realise than any job is worth doing rather than being stone broke..
At least till something better comes up like..

I took my first job at 13 and have been working since.
I can't think of one i actually enjoyed...

Actually, there was that time i was a Milkman and to listen to the hellish sounds of my alarm clock at 04:15 for 6 days a week.
Then walk to work in the Cold, fill trolleys full of Milk only to have faulty cartons explode all over me.
Then stock about 30 shops and almost have frostbite after it. Go home and scrub myself for an hour only to still smell like the sour urination of Satan.
All for a pitiful minimum wage.....

On the upside, i did get to roide Mrs O'Reilly.

Did you forget your feckin' trousers?

Peter Gibbons: So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.
Dr. Swanson: What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?
    Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Dr. Swanson: Wow, that's messed up.
    Office Space

But eh, jail, eh, I think i'd rather take working in a ****ty job with the option of quitting rather than in a cell were you cant just leave

Jail was okay until I got paroled. (Or was that the call centre...?)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.
