I would consider anything but I would prefer weekends to weekdays and a weekend role in a manufacturing plant would be excellent

Get thee to McDonalds or Burger King

There aint alot of jobs going now, and most places have their Christmas staff at this stage.

Fast food places and stores like Dunnes, Tescos, have quite alot of staff and often take people on

That would be your best bet IMO. It's good to have the foot in the door... once you're working, you can continue to look elsewhere, but at least you have some cash coming in.

I'm lucky in that I've had the same steady part-time jobs since I started college and I'm in final year now so I can't speak from recent experience but from what I can see part-time jobs are becoming quite scarce at the mo. With the economic downturn part-time work is one of the first sectors to suffer. For example, my own sister has just gone into first year in college. She's been looking for something part-time since September to no avail and she has 2+ years in various jobs (Xtravision, Spar etc.)

That said you just gotta keep looking and hope you walk into the right place at the right time. Coming up to Xmas a lot of places will be hiring seasonal staff but the competition will probably even stiffer than normal so make sure to start applying now. Good luck :)
