can i be shafted on my redundancy pay?

    i work for a small construction firm, but they have told me that they are laying off all the guys on site. they are holding back the last few weeks wages because they say that they have no money at the moment,but that it should be paid to us in the next week or so, i think this sounds suspect. but my big worry is that i have worked for this crowd for the last eight years and im afraid that they will try to get out of paying me redundancy, because there is talk of them closing down the company before christmas
