Is there anywhere I can do a Postgraduate diploma in Secondary teaching without a 2.1 primary degree? I have a pass degree in English and Sociology and I've almost given up hope at this stage. I can't teach primary because I got a B3 in Ordinary Level Irish in the Leaving Cert. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

It took me a lot of trying but I got my HDip with a pass degree. I finally got accepted in trinity after 3 years of applying! The first year I got rejected straight away but I subbed for a few years and kept applying! It was all worth it in the end...Good luck

If you got a lot of subbing at secondary you could possibly make up the points but the demand for your subjects might not be massive.

The obvious quickest way out for you is to repeat the Leaving Cert Irish next June, working your butt off in the meantime, and apply for a Primary post-grad.

A B3 in the pass is not bad at all, considering that as a pass subject it might not have taken your full concentration at the time. With a bit more maturity now and the sole focus on one subject you should be capable off pulling out a Higher level C next June if you really want to. You really should do this I think.
