Has the facility for searching classics on carzone disappeared, or am I just doing something stupid?

The best you can do now is use the old search facility here and set "newest year" to 1993

I used to browse every few days, I've stopped.

They really are killing the whole online experience.

I tried this, but it's not showing a load of older cars that were there last time I searched under 'classics'. Might give them a call tomorrow to ask where they've gone.

I e-mailed them and told them the site was crap, needless to say I'm still waiting for a reply. I doubt I'll bother advertising classic stuff with them in future or any cars for that matter, every single person I've spoken to regarding the site has commented on how bad they've made what was a great site. If cbg had any sense they'd make a move but then again they had it good too and threw it all away.

Couldn't agree more they've made a balls of that redesign.

www.classiccarsales.ie is still reasonably user friendly.

Oh it's not even nearly a classic... Just couldn't pass up the chance to bash carzone.
I'm after a mk4 Gti now or a mk3 vr6 if I can get an unabused example. My mk2 was telling me she was feeling lonely so I need to get something to keep her company :p

I was waiting for someone to say how crap the carzone site is now!! I used to love browsing the site. Now I can't stand it. I sold the odd classic on the site in the past, can't say that I'll use it in the future. What's the best site to look for or sell classics in Ireland?

Depending on what you have it might be best to join a fansite for that make/model and advertise there.

Nice move, cars have a habit of multiplying!!:DId go for the VR6 if i was buying myself, the MK4 GTi never got good press, they are a bit of a heavy lazy car,the MK5 is a far better car, though a much better price too:P!!

I'd say the fact that they now charge €25 every four weeks to keep your ad on the site has had a lot to do with it. I'd guess that people are simply not renewing the ads.

As a bit of a plug you can list your classic car over on ClassicCar.ie for free and its renewable until sold. You'll need to register but once that's done you can also edit your ad if you want to change the details. There is also the option to go for a Premium ad which allows more pictures, text and appears at the top of a search. But there is a once off cost for those ads.

    Cheers
    Jon

Just had a look at site stats on alexa.com

    http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/carzone.ie

Down 10% in last 3 months. Prolly the recession rather than site useability.
