    Hello Everyone,
Could you clarify a couple of things for me regarding the DS Lite - I'm fairly new to these consoles having got one each for the kids recently.

Question 1 - What is and how does the R4 work and what is it used for?
Question 2 - Would I be able to purchase games from the US or other overseas countries - what I mean is - Is the DS Lite region free?

Sorry if the questions sound a bit thick but sure if you don't ask you'll never find out right?:D

    Thanks all
    Bijou

    1. The R4 is a flash cart used for "Homebrew" (user-created content).
      And piracy.
    2. All DS games are region-free. The newer DSi games, however, will not be.

    Thanks for answers guys.

So does that mean I can order games from US/UK etc.... for the consoles bought here and they'll work OK?

Yeah you will have no problems buying games from Asia, states etc.. They will work on your DS. I used playasia.com before for a charger(Got my DS in the states) and games. Shop around for them any way. Good luck

Don't forget that Japanese games are... Japanese only (unless stated) :)

Oh, and IIRC BeNeLux-region games have no English option.
