I tried to purchase a Manfrotto 055XPROB from mymemory.com I was going to get the Manfrotto 460 MG 3D Tripod Head as well.

They would not deliver it. Has to be below 2kg unless it's in the UK. They would deliver it to Northern Ireland though.

There is not an option of paying for delivery. I did find a UK address I could use but they would not deliver there as it doesn't match my Credit Card details.

I went to the Bay of E & got the same Tripod with a different head for a LOT less. :D

What head did you get? How for a lot less the only one I could find was the same money as MyMemory

I got that tripod the other week from 7dayshop, delivered no problem. It is a nice little tripod, and the head is handy. The quick release plate can be a little too quick to release, and it is awkward to tighten the plate to the bottom of the camera.

I've had problems trying to order heavier stuff from MyMemory in the past.

Just this second, I've had a new monopod delivered from Camera King on Amazon. They say they can't deliver outside UK, but clearly they do. I've bought bags from them in the past which were delivered by GLS. Monopod just came by An Post.

    785B - Max Load: 1kg
Will that be enough for your gear?

I have a Canon 400D with a Sigma 17-70mm. Also have the 70-300mm but rarely use it.

I had heard that this is a little on the light side but i already have a big chunky tripod, I'm looking for somehting small and light.

Would this be ok for occiaisional use or am I wasting my time?

    sigma 455 grams
    400D 510 grams
    _____________

total 965 grams + battery, grip?... and you are working on max load. Head will become loose pretty soon.

    Thanks Sasar.

That's fine for me, I assumed it would be well over, so if it is just under recommended max then i'm happy. I'm such an occiaisonal user that I'm sure I'll get years of use out of it!

Even got a nice Christmas mint* in today's parcel from MyMemory! :D

As for the tripod, it is what it is, small and light, but is good and versatile going from ground level to whatever its max height is. Straps to the side of your bag easily.

I have this tripod and find it to be an excellent second "travel" tripod. It fits in my backpack, where a laptop would normally go. It can struggle a little with the longer lenses and I found that the grip on the quick release grip could be better. The part that you attatch to the camera was slightly too small for the space it slotted into. In fack I glued a match stick in one corner in order to make tighter grip. All in all, I've found it to be a decent tripod especially for travel. I'll never forget lugging my main heavier tripod around Germany for 2 weeks. I took this one to Paris and it was perfect, very light, easy to store and sturdy enough for panoramas and night shots.
