Mac Battery is dead

    Morning all,

    Woke up this morning and my MacBook battery is dead. plugged it in and the light on the battery dont come on and the battery icon says not charging.

    it was doing fine and I had gotten about 18 month out of it.

    would anyone know where to get a battery cheapish. there wasnt much on the net about mac batteries!! which i found suprising

    ideas??

    thanks for that,
    i rang apple this evening and my battery is not covered in that faulty battery program. it has 438 cycles and they will only cover it if it was under 300 cycles.

    bloody apple, cant get a cheaper battery so i'm stuck with the exp option.

    THere have been known problems with older Macbook (pro) batteries, check out the battery replacement program to see if your Macbook is included.

    Believe me, you don't want to touch their batteries as I found out to my cost. Not only will you get done for duty but the batteries themselves are utter rubbish. They will not live up to their claims and will fall apart.

    You might get one on eBay.

    Be wary of some ebay ones, I got a high capacity "OEM" one and it looks totally off to the rest of the machine, almost opaque/off white sh!tey color.

    On the plus side it was 50 euro and gets me about 20 mins longer than i ever did with the stock battery.
