Good idea in a perfect world:

Liverpool: Torres (Goals and can play well on his own up front)
Man U: Tough but i'd prob go with Ronaldo (I feel we need a pretty boy to take the shine off JJ:D:D)
Chelsea: Terry (So we can stick his overrated ass on the bench and I can die happy and watch him waste away to nothing :eek::eek: but no as a CB)
Arsenal: If I HAD to pick i'd go with Denilson (casue i'd rather Die then have Fabregas in a spurs Jersey)

I have chosen these to "strengthen" the current team, I do not think they are the best players on their team, for instance I didn't pick Ronaldo, because we already have Bentley and Lennon on the RW. I chose positions I think we need players in!

Liverpool, Gerrard (MF), just the midfielder we need, can defend, tackle and motivate - and gets goals!
Chelsea, Cech (GK), No goals, no goals, no goals!
Man U, Rooney (CF) Strong, works hard, good partner for Bent
Arse, Clichy, (LB)great, defender, and winger!

So after January this would be our team (top 2 team four sure, look at the bench!)

Lampard - Can't ignore all those goals from a midfielder (You listening JJ?)
Rooney - Nuff said
Gerrard - As defensive midfielder with Lampard in front.
Fabregas - Sorry ziedth but he makes Arse work and I'd jump at the chance to see him in a Spurs shirt...

But I would add one rider...If ever Lampard kissed the badge I would reserve the right for Ledley to kick him in the bollocks...

Fabregas - one of the best creative midfielders in the league
Essien - one of the best combative mdifielders in the league
Ferdinand - perfect partner for Woody

Ya Keane its not the most realistic but we can dream. But I agree exactly with what you say I can tell you now Arry has Gomes replacment lined up from the minute he signed with us.

In the real world one for each area would be

GK: Given
DEF: Hard to pick out who is available maybe Richard Dunne
MF: I wouldn't mind Diarra
ST: Defoe or maybe a cheeky bid for Zaki
