An arm or a leg?

Was just thinkin about that phrase about costing an arm and a leg and it got me thinking - which would you rather lose?

I'd probably prefer to lose an arm cause without a leg I couldn't play football, run or even walk. Bit of a disaster to be hobblin around with a crutch of some sort or be in a wheelchair.

It'd have to be my left arm though for obvious reasons.

Which would you rather be? 64 votes

I couldn't choose. It's like being asked your least favourite sense. I am just thankful every day I have all my extremeties, and I show that thanks by mocking spastics and the like. I've a kind heart though.

Jaysus this is a morbid thread!

I said armless, although you'd want to make sure you have a significant other or lots of cash for keeping the pipes clean...

well considering if i lost an arm i couldn't type properly so i'd be careerless, i couldn't use my camera, i couldn't play my guitar, i couldn't fapp properly the list is endless.

think it's safe to say i'd rather lose a leg.

Meh the legs can go, I really need my arms a lot more.

    Deffo leg.

A prosthetic leg works a hell of alot better than a prosthetic arm.

definately a leg. There a few 1 legged bikers around so that good enough reason for me to pick a leg. Be to hard trying to ride a motorbike with one arm

How would I hold long A with one arm!?
    Oh wait...

    I couldn't choose.

Of course you can! I'm going to carve off all of your limbs and most of your face if you don't pick between an arm or a leg. Which is it? *revs chainsaw*

I'd imagine playing source wouldn't be much harder using your feet.

At that moment I'd probably ask for a hand job, irrespective of your gender.

If youre legless you can just get yourself one of those anti gravity platforms theyll be coming out with.. or artificial legs. im not picky. But I wouldnt know what to do with myself if I couldnt type paint or have a good ****.

I'd say legs, couldn't live without my guitar!

I'd rather lose a leg, I could still fight Judo or Brazillian Jiu Jitsu or any other grappling style without a leg, I couldn't do so well without both arms.

Oh, and its hard to **** with a foot too.

    Bloody stupid question. :(

My right arm as i'm left handed.

I cannot contemplate not being able to walk. What a nightmare.

Maybe I could learn to play the drums then - like yer man from Def Leppard.

Awful question, but I'd rather lose a leg. Couldn't play the piano with one arm. Plus a prosthetic leg would be so much more effective than a prosthetic arm.

    Rather lose a leg(s).

Not being able to put my arms around my wife and kids would kill me inside.

A leg. I'd imagine getting really good prosthetic legs would be easier than getting prosthetic arms because of fingers and stuff. Although a mechanical arm you could crush things with is enticing too.

    Decisions!

Only possible if you're a bilionaire like Iron Man. And in a comic book.

This is a bit insensitive folks. Some people have lost limbs or live with the truma in their families. Not exactly a laughing matter. :(

Oh we don't mean no arm by it.

I disagree. Everything's a laughing matter. And I genuinely mean that. Not everywhere of course. I mean I wouldn't go telling orphan jokes in an orphanarium but you have to be able to laugh at things.

An arm and a leg? I remember when things used to only cost you the shirt off your back. Feckin' inflation.

Ahem. speaking as someone who did lose an arm, believe me, it's better than losing a leg.

I can't; play a guitar, play hurling for Limerick, clap or use the nunchuck attachment on a Wii.

I can; stand, walk, run, cycle and do pretty much anything else I want to. There is no contest here.

For the record, I don't find this thread offensive.

Do you applaud the thread though?

I am around many people who have lost their leg(s) due to trauma or illness and I have seen many of them go on to lead very normal lives with artificial prosthesis', including walking running marathons etc just look at Heather Mills ( i know she is a bit od a loose cannon) I have also seen people lose their arms for same reasons and although they can be fitted with prosthetic arms they can be limited. I would prefer to lose my arm. Imagine not being able to hold your baby or hug them without feeling them:(

My arm as long as I can stick a chainsaw on the end of it.

    I said legless...

Prosthetic legs, motorised wheelchairs if all came to all, whereas you can't realy do anything without your hands/arms!

Prefer to keep all my limbs in tact though obviously, given the option ;)
