Run defense. How hard is that to understand? I mean nearly every week I listen to Andy Reid and Jim Johnson and Marty Mornhinweg talk about them needing to get the team into better positions and needing to produce more in every game. It's week eleven and it is still doesn't seem to be getting through to the team.

First time in 6 years there was a tied game in the NFL and it shouldn't have even have gotten that far with the Bengals missing a FG winner at the end of OT

This will probably be Reid's last season in Philly

in fairness, when Mcnabb doesnt have a good game the eagles arent going to win are they?

but the bengals? should be putting them away......the tie kills the eagles playoffs hopes imo

mcnabb shouldnt be allowed to throw that much,Westbrook is one of the best rbs in the league and we had 18 total rushes.

Westbrook has been struggling with injuries off late probably why the Eagles hesitate to hand it off to him.

With McNabb not being able to rely on his trust worthy running game in Westbrook due to the injury he carries it forces the Eagles to air it out and pressures their offense.

Not an easy thing to fix and is dependant on the personnel you have and it seems the Eagles haven't adjuated. Getting rid of Spikes imo was a mistake.

I had to laugh but apparently Mcnabb didn't even know a game could end in a tie thinking their would be a second OT

Remmiscement of when Joe Gibbs called consecutive timeouts last season utterly shocking:eek:

Its funny I have been watching the NFL for the last 16 years and didn't know that either up until last year when a friend of mine reminded me of the tie back in 2002. Madness I tells ya.

Westbrook was averaging 5 yards a carry last night. The Bengals defense aint spectacular, Eagles should have run it down their throats with Westy, Buckhalter and McNabb. We would have had a better chance than leaving it up to McNabb in the air

Yeah but they hesitated to use Westbrook more than they did. 4.28 yds per carry to be precise :D The Eagles seem to have no confidence in their running game right now and Id say the fact Westbrook is not completely healthy has something to do with it. And with buckhalter only averaging 4 yds in 57 carries it doesnt say much for their backup.

I knew about the tie for the same reason I know most of the things I know about the NFL... it happened to me in Madden.

But the Eagles do seemed to be a bit confused with this run game at the moment. They don't run often when other teams do... then they DO run often on 4th down, and end up short.

I've never been convinced by McNabb, I don't think he does it enough under pressure and also when he has an off day its really bad.
I think thats where the Eagles have to look to improve next season. It looks like Derek Anderson will be looking for a new job next season and if they hired him as back up to McNabb he might just be the man to take his job.

I knew because of the 5-6-0 or 7-5-0 you sometimes see on certain match reports etc. I was dying to see it happen.

No way, Derek Anderson isn't near the same class as McNabb. Just because McNabb never made it to the end of OT since he left college doesn't mean that the Eagles should replace him with a guy who got dropped at a far worse team.

Many in the US media pitched this as McNabb's year to shine. He categorically has not. I think both he and the Eagles would benefit from a move here.

While I'm not gone on Derek Anderson, I think he is better than he has looked this year with the Browns. If he was getting the same protection as McNabb gets I think he would do a far better job. Actually you could see Cassel end up there yet, he would do a better job as well. But to me the big problem is that McNabb is a college running QB and that part of his game does not get much use in the NFL. With the quality of Westbrook its just a good arm they need and Anderson has that.

I really don't rate McNabb at all. I thought he would make it when he first came along but he has been a failure to date and I don't see it getting any better for him, he has a class Offence around him and he just has not done it.

I love watching college QBs who run a lot, but the likes of Tebow will struggle in the NFL. Its usually the underrated guys, or guys who don't run I mean, who come through and shine in the pro ranks.
If you look at this year, Matt Ryan could not run to save his life but he has been a sensation in his rookie year.

PS. I didn't say to replace him, I said as his backup, but a realistic contender if he does not get his act together.
