Subtitle & AVI File

Hi,

I was recently given a movie clip(avi) from a friend for use in a presentation. Unfortunately It comes with a subtitle file srt file. Was wondering if anyone could let me know how to combine the two so that I can watch them on windows media player.

Friend is as useless as me with this area

Just make sure both files are named the same (including capital letters). Put them in the same folder, and play it in DivX or VLC Player. (Better support of subs imo)

thanks steve. tried that both files have the exact same name apart from the .srt extension - still wont work.

can you recomend a media player to download for this

I think the file needs to be in a "subtitles" subdirectory for it to work in WMP.

i used "virtual dub" myself before,it plays the video,then it plays it again then it mixes in the subtitles to give the final product
