NTL through Onkyo?

I did a quick search but can't see if this problem was answered before...

I'm trying to watch NTL digital through my Infocus projector via an Onkyo 606. There's only scart from teh NTL box but I have a scart/componant lead to the amp. The amp is linked by HDMI to the projector.

The NTL box also feeds a plasma TV, it's one of those small NTL boxes with 2 scarts

I should clarify.... I have set a componant input to accept the NTL box but no signal is coming through.

You sure that the amp accepts and RGB signal as opposed to YPbPr?

I have the same little ntl box and I just run the RGB Scart to the screen for picture, and put the optical output for audio through the reciever.

I'm not. I was under the impression that it might accept composite through the componant input. Wishful thinking perhaps.

as stated above this is to get a signal through a projector (hence via the amp). For the plasma I do exactly what you're doing.

unfortunately, the amp is YPbPr for the component inputs. personally, i dont run the ntl through an amp but i understand why you're doing it here. without using an RGB to YPrPb converter (i've never seen one), you'll have to stick with just scart to composite video (which when "upscaled" through the onkyo wont be stunning...)

That's the baby for me! I still have a lot of old VHS too so I could feed the 2nd NTL scart through a VCR and on to that. Excellent Moe, that's a perfect solution!

Does anyone stock such a thing or is it only via the 'net?

i've never seen one in a store and i can't find one from a supplier that i'd be able to get. so i reckon the internet is your best bet on this one

The other thing you could check is if you have a DVDr that might accept RGB through scart and output the signal via its component/hdmi output?

My Pioneer does this alright, which is quite handy.

I don't have a DVD recorder at all but thought I might get one soon... that's a good idea man, thanks.
