A few 80s Cd Compilations this year:

    Larry Gogans 80s and 90s
    MTUSA 2
    101 Irish Hits

Sort of disappointed with these - why no Auto Da Fe, Fountainhead, Minor Detail, Light a Big Fire etc?

Why rehash track listings that are on compilations already.

Why can't a bit of effort be put into compilations - like the "retro active" series from the other side of the Ahlantic?

101 Hits seems to be the best of the 3.

I take on board what you're saying about the same songs being rehashed/recycled to death and thats true, but recently I've noticed CD compilations are actually improving, both in audio quality, quantity and material.

Take the latest series from DMG label, they've got 5 and 6 CD box sets for around 11 or 12 euro, giving 100+ tracks. Their latest releases have way less rehashed stuff on them, example "80s Pop" has rare/hard-to-find tracks like "For America" by Red Box, "I'll keep on loving you" - Princess, "Loving you is sweeter than ever" and "Each time you break my heart" - Nick Kamen to mention just a few.

ps, to download all those tracks would cost €100 whereas the box set is just 10% of that!! Plus no harsh MP3 quality, PCM only.
