No real difference between the game's performance, perhaps online the 360 would be better but you have to pay a subscription.

I honestly wouldn't decide on a console based on one game though. See what other games your son likes and see which console offers them. Also keep price in mind. The PS3 is more expensive but is more future-proofed.
