PPS NR., FAS, BANK!

    I am unemployed, and want to go to FAS, to find a job, i know that i need a PPS Nr. with me, but i have to take PPS nr. paper with me or i can just write it (PPS nr.) down and show them? The same question is when i will go to bank? Does i need to take my PPS paper with me in these situations, or i need just to tell them my nr.?

    Your PPS no on a piece of paper should do fine with both

    If you are going to open a bank account you really need to bring originals not something written on a bit of paper.

    To open an account you need

    passport / driving lisence
    PPS no
    something else with your address (ESB, gas bil, etc)

    For FAS all you need is your pps no on a piece of paper.
    Also for bank.
    To open a bank account you need a bill to pprove your address, and two formf of photo id, licence or passport etc. They will photocopy them and sign the copies and keep the copies on file for legal purposes as part of the money laundering act. We have the drug dealing scumbags to thank for this latest red tape.

    For Social Welfare you need a card, like a credit card which has your PPS number on it. They will issue you one if you do not have one already.
    Also social welfare need some form of ID, driving licence, passport etc to identify you and your P45, cessation certificate from your last employment if you worked somewhere before.

    Be ready for long queues as a lot of people do not be prepared and take up a lot of time in the queues.
