    Hi Sillysocks,

I was in SA in May of this year on my honeymoon. I would spend longer in Capetown as there is a lot to see and do there and you'll need a day for driving down around the cape as well and you may want to do a wine tour.

We got a deal also that if we booked two nights in Shamwari we got three nights free in a Cape Town hotel, we picked the Table Bay Hotel which is in the V & A waterfront and I'd highly recommend it if you're going with this option. I've heard the Radission is great too though but isn't affiliated with Shamwari and is slightly further out from the V & A and the city centre.

Can't comment on any of your other accomodation options but I would think a total of five nights beteen Knynsa and Plettenberg is way too much, they're only about 30 miles apart. Overall I personally wouldn't change hotels/accomodation as much as you lose so much time checking in and out of hotels and constantly packing up is a pain in the arse!!

On a side note, there's a nice little pub in Plettenberg called the lookout which has a beautiful setting and also a good bar at the bottom of the heads in Knynsa.

    Hey.... thanks for your reply!
Yes we got two nights free at the Radisson because we're spending 2 nights at Shamwari whic was great - originally we were only booked in for 3 nights in Gorah and none in Sharmwari but when we ammended it so 2 in Gorah and 2 in Shamwari it only changed the price by 150 eur because of the free Capetown hotel offer!

The Kynsa accomodation is in an elephant orphanage and you actually sleep in rooms which are all part of where the elephants sleep so definitely don't want to give that a miss. The reason we went for 4 nights in Plettenberg is that both te accomodations we have there are meant to be fab, and we thought we could maybe spend 2 or 3 of the days just relaxing and chilling out (to break up all the travelling as you said).

thanks for you post though, will keep it a ll in mind when we're making our final decisions!

All those destinations are nice, I've been to the Whitewater Lodge, that area is one of my favourite places in the world. You should definitely give cage diving a go at Kleinbaai/Gansbaai, and its possible to see whales off the coast.

Addo is also another nice area, the park is good, I'd like to check out the coastal stretch of it however. Keep an eye out for dung beetles.
