How do you go about getting one of these licences and has any one gone shooting on any of the lakes,Just wondering was there millions of shooters out at the same time or was it peacefull enough.

The licence comes from The Dept of Foresteries I think and it's free. They send you a list of all the state lakes in Ireland, you fill them all out on the form and send it back. It lasts 5 years.

The only time you see loads out on the lakes is opening day. After that you mightn't meet another soul all day.
