Now Im not sure what you call 'young kids' but I was quite surprised when I fired up the singleplayer this afternoon . Ive been playing the multi beta a while and theres a few gruesome scenarios mostly involving lower legs being blown off .But the full game is quite graphic compared with the other COD games ...The opening 60 seconds of the single player has the F word, cigarette being stubbed out in an eye in an interrogation scene and a throat being slit ...Im only about 5 minutes in so dont know what to expect later!Just a heads up for the family guys!!!

There is an option to turn off 'explicit content'...

Even 25 years ago those age limits were universally ignored for cinema Kamikazi...I cant imagine its much different with games nowadays .And I was actually more aiming my comment at people who might be tempted to start up the game with a young son around and give him a go ...

well thats their problem. if someone chooses to do that your not likely to change their mind. at the end of the day its only a game anyway. normal children will understand that.

i was playing mortal combat when i was 10 and i havent murdered many people yet.

Well, this is a good bit more violent than the other call of dutys, but it seems this is reflected in the age rating, see HERE.

Well the one I got has a 15 limit must be 18 in USA...Seriously though its not that I thought a 13 or 14 yr old isnt ok playing this ...Just anybody who thought it was like the rest or no more graphic than an aul war movie could be in for a terrible shock when they started it up with/in front of their young kids.

It makes it more realistic which is good. Nothing better than blowing someone legs up with a grenade or toasting a Jap with a flamethrower :D

The US version is set to 'M' for Mature, 17+

I am surprised the UK/Irish Versions got a 15 Cert on this one, France is 18!

Well apart from the obvious answer of the game being 15s
Yeah it doesn't show war all clean and glorious as the previous cods.
    Lots more limbs and executing.
    Like proper war.
    So in that sense yes.

I never really noticed the gore in the single player much but in multiplayer players seem to get blown to bits.
