why? if it's for environment reasons, just make some changes elsewhere in your lifestyle/ routine as you'll waste so much time and resources, not to mention money doing a conversion likr that if you start from scratch.
If it's purely for amusement work away, but i wouldnt be expecting it to work out cheap. or be any fun afterwards.

I would be doing it just as a interesting project, I normally drive a transit full of tools. If you were commuting 20-30 kms a day, rarely getting over 50mph, it would be perfect. I would get great pleasure driving past petrol stations.

Don't know of any conversions here yet. There was someone on the DIY Electric Car forum from Ireland looking for help converting a Quantum 2+2...

I'm seriously considering conversion - maybe a motorbike though - it'd be easier and cheaper. Check this out:

    Looks deadly!

Bear in mind that you can always upgrade the batteries - Lithuim batteries are dead expensive now, but that'll change - and then you'll get way more range.

I'm a bit of a petrol head but it would be an interesting project.

There seems to be good resources in the U.S. for conversions:

If that was really the case you'd be looking at V8 conversions.

Some of the EV heads on here will be able to give you more info but there is a guy around the Dublin area who has converted a BMW to fully electric.

You'd be lucky do any even half a job for 10k though:eek:
