Is this supposed to be our answer to Britain's Got Talent? It sounds bloody awful...
Shane Lynch, Dáithí Ó Sé, Dana, Bláthnaid Ní Chiofaigh and John Creedon have been announced as the judges for RTÉ's 'The All Ireland Talent Show'.

Each of the judges will represent a region in the nationwide competition. Boyzone's Lynch will mentor the Dublin region with Ó Sé flying the flag for the West. The North will be represented by Eurovision winner and former MEP Dana and Bláthnaid will mentor the East. Fresh from his stint on 'Fáilte Towers' John Creedon is set to represent the South.

The judges will pick and mentor the best five acts from their regions which will go forward to the live stage of the competition early next year. The acts will then compete for the grand prize of €50,000.

Each judge will also have two advisors to help them make their decision. Shane Lynch will have the Gerry Ryan Show's Evelyn O'Rourke and John Keogh. On hand for Daithi Ó Sé will be 'Paisean Faisean's Bláthnaid Ní Donnacha and novelist and actor, Páraic Breathnach. In Dana's corner are Majella O'Donnell and BBC's Joe Lindsay. John Creedon will have the support of Michael Healy Rae and ex - Six band member, Sinead Shepherd.

The show, presented by Gráinne Seoige, promises to be Ireland's biggest ever country-wide talent contest. The show will be broadcast every Sunday night at 6.30pm on RTÉ One, from January 4.

The search for new talent begins this weekend when first set of auditions are held in Dublin. If you can dance, tell a joke, juggle, play an instrument, sing, perform with a pet or entertain in any way, then 'The All Ireland Talent Show' wants to see you.

West: Saturday 22 November - GMIT, Dublin Rd, Galway, at 7.30am. For entrants from Counties Galway, Mayo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo

The horror, the horror! Shane Lynch, Dana, Grainne Seoige, Gerry Ryan, Michael Healy Rae...noooooooooooo.

Rest assured knowing this country it will be a ratings winner but I can't say it sounds too appealing...

So yet another thieved show from England. This time Britain's Got Talent. Do the knobs in RTE just spend their time watching the British channels and think "in a few years when people are bored of these we should nick them".

You have to laugh at the 'grand prize' as well - €50,000.

I know times are tough but for feck's sake. :pac:

How original! Fair play to RTÉ! I bet it took them weeks to come up with a show like this, knowing that nowhere else in the world has anything like this even been attempted before. I bet you anything that in maybe 3 or 4 years BBC and ITV will be trying to pawn off cheap imitations of this brand new format.

RTÉ Strike again! Well done lads! ;)

But wasn't Britains Got Talent a copy of Americas Got Talent?
