What size screen do you need for full HD

I have a 32 inch hd ready sony screen. I think its class but I'm thinking of upgrading to full hd as I have a HD-DVD player and a blu-ray player. I'm only a couple of foot from the tv (a meter at most) so what do you reckon would be the righ size screen?
