Doing a lot of driving lately. Anybody know any good deals on Sat Navs?

And can I get the sat nav built into my car. Audi A4 or would it be better to leave it as a stand alone device?

Dont really want to spend too much money on it.

    All advice appreciated.

    Thanks

You could pick up a sat nav unit on ebay that was an audi factory unit from a broken A4 etc but factory sat navs are usually some of the worst and can be quite expensive.

Stand alone is better as you can take it from car to car.

If you have a nokia N95 8gb you can get garmin mobile XT which is satnav for your phone, this is what i have and i find it excellent,i recently did a european road trip and it never let me down.the main plus bit is you can set it to calculate for pedestrian as well as car so you can take it on foot around foreign cities with you.

I saw a Garmin 310T for STG£99 in the Carphonewarehouse in the UK. It costs €170 here.

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 200 in Halfords on monday for €120. Been away for the last 4 days in Limerick and Claire and it did it's job very well, highly recommended!

Aldi have this one from next Thursday:

No idea how good it is though, might be better to stick with the more better known brands lime Garmon or TomTom for map updates, etc.

forget built in units - not as good as standalone, and expensive.

has some good pricing on Tom Tom's, etc.
